The Team
ASEC Board

Robert Padilla
President
What’s up, my name is Robert Padilla and I am the president of ASEC. I’m a second year at IVC studying mechanical engineering. I am in love with cars and the automotive field and love vintage 80s and 90s cars. I enjoy working with students and expanding access to stem education through my own non profit called creative labs that provides tangible stem activities for underserved students in southern California. ASEC caught my attention during IVC laser day and I’ve been with the club ever since. I’m going to bring lots of energy and fun to our projects this year!
Samantha Trujillo
Vice President
Hello everyone, my name is Samantha Trujillo (but everyone calls me Sam or Sami) and I am the Vice President of ASEC this year. I am a third-year Bioengineering major and i’m honestly only interested in this major because of the money. Outside I enjoy playing memorization games, like “Guess That Person’s Credit Card Numbers”; I also like doing outdoor activities like touching gras (peep the pfp), unlike some engineers here….I am looking forward to this year’s incoming members and new projects!

Angelina Zarov
Treasurer
Hi! My name is Angelina and I’m a Chemical Engineering major here at IVC. I was originally just a Chemistry major, but ASEC helped me realize that the natural sciences aren’t the only interesting part of STEM. See you at the next club meeting!
German Leon
Secretary - Social Media
Hello! My name is German Leon, and I'm the Secretary of Social Media for ASEC this year. I am a second-year Biomedical Engineering major, and my passion for engineering stems from a young age when I first began designing and creating projects. Outside the classroom I enjoy playing music, working out and watching sports with my friends. Can't wait to meet new members and I'm looking forward for a great upcoming year!

Olle Thoennes
Secretary - Minutes
Hello, my name is Olle Thoennes, and I am the current Secretary of Minutes for ASEC. I’m a rising Sophomore here at IVC studying Mechanical engineering with an interest in Software engineering. I’m excited about computers, AI, and their contributions to the engineering field. If I’m not studying or doing something revolving around engineering, I’m painting Warhammer 40k figurines or hanging out with friends. I’m so excited to meet all of you, we’re going to have so much fun!
Evan Garcia
ICC Student Rep
Hello, my name is Evan Garcia and I am the ICC representative of ASEC. I'm currently a second year at IVC studying Aerospace Engineering. I am currently looking to create my own 3d printing business using a couple bambu labs printers I am obtaining, since I really enjoy 3d modeling, so if you ever want to use the printer just let me know (with a small fee of 100 dollars). ASEC also caught my attention during laser day, and I fully committed to the club during the spring semester. I really want to elevate our projects while keeping them fun and easy!

Luka Krezovic
ICC Representative/ Outreach Commissioner
As an ICC Representative and Outreach Commissioner, my goal is to grow the membership and active participation in our amazing meetings. My goal is for ASEC to be seen as a home for every engineering major at IVC, as I want to share the amazing engineering community we have. I personally am a civil engineering major that wants to specialize in railway transportation engineering. I love transportation of all sorts, trains, cars, planes, you name it and a big advocate for public transport. In my freetime, I love modeling railroads and airports both in HO and 1/400 scale along with designing prototype examples.
Dr. Zara Noroozi
Faculty Advisor
Hello! My name is Zara Noroozi. I am a professor of engineering at Irvine Valley College and the faculty advisor for the Applied Science and Engineering Club (ASEC). I hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Shiraz in Iran and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine. I joined IVC in Fall 2014 and have also served as an adjunct faculty member at UCI since Summer 2009. At IVC, I am committed to hands-on, student-centered learning and use interactive methods to foster engagement and curiosity. Outside the classroom, I enjoy running in the canyon, baking sourdough bread, and gardening in my Southern California backyard.

ASEC is a fun and supportive space for like-minded students interested in engineering and science to connect, collaborate, and grow. I hope you’ll join us this year and become part of this amazing community.
